On October 22, 2009, NorthJersey.com published a demonstrably false claim regarding the contents of “Muslim Mafia.”
In a column by Ahmed Soliman, “Islamophobia is alive and well in Congress,”
the article fabricates quotes which are not contained anywhere in the book, including that “Islam is ‘a terminal disease that, once spread, is hard to destroy’ and advocates that the practice of Islam should be punishable in prison.”
No such statements are printed or even implied in the book, which the columnist clearly did not read and apparently relied instead on erroneous second-hand accounts for his information.
This is biased journalism writ large.
The editor has been asked to retract the column. Let’s see if he does the right thing. He can be contacted at letterstotheeditor@northjersey.com.
